*** This question is avaiable to anyone and everyone!! :-) ***

We are looking for content on our site (MyAdventureGame.com) and
figured, who better than the talented writers and researches at GA to
help us with this task! MyAdventureGame.com is the source for playing,
creating, and sharing "choose-your-own-adventure"-style games. For
more information on the web-site, please read the Frequently Asked
Questions.

Answering this question should be fun and challenging. Before you
begin, please make sure that you are up for the task ... this question
certainly is not for everyone. If making a game on our website sounds
is something you WOULDN'T do in your spare time, then this question
may NOT be for you.

The Question:
Go to our website (http://MyAdventureGame.com), create an account (or
use your existing account), and make a game that would best fit into
our "Love & Dating Games" category.

This game has very few requirements -- first and foremost, it it
obviously has to be able to fit into the "Love & Dating" category,
so it will need to have something to do with that subject matter.
Secondly, it must have at least 30 pages, 50 links, and at least 6
different pictures spread throughout the game. These pictures should
have some relevance to the page they are on and can be photographs,
illustrations, or animated GIFs -- whatever you deem appropriate.
Remember, the system allows only one picture per page. Also, more
pictures add to the game, and good games get great tips!

Most good games have most pages with 100-150 words, but that’s just a
rule of thumb. Pages too short don't get the player in the story,
pages too long remove interactivity. This game must feel interactive.

Remember, this is a family-oriented web site. Because of the category,
a little bit of racey material is to be expected -- but we definately
don't want gory details, excessive use, etc. Think PG-13.

We have a few examples of games that may give you some inspiration.
None of these games would fit the requirements of the question, as
they are all too short, not enough pictures, or unfinished.

Also, your game should be better (or atleast more complete) than these
three and will certainly set the standard. :-) Comedy is not a
requirement, but if you decide to go that route, more power to you!

Unfortunately, there very limited, if any, instructions available. We
have, however, tried to make the game editor as easy to use as
possible. Assuming you have an up-to-date internet browser (IE4+,
NS4+), there will be Pop-Up help on many of the buttons on the
website. If you have any specific questions about it, we would be
more than happy to answer them for you.

**** IMPORTANT GAME TIP ****
Also note, it is important to have a good idea of the Start and End of
your game before creating it on the website. Planning before hand
will not only save time but will create a much better end product.
You will thank yourself later if you do this. If you plan the story
out and even make a storyline map on paper, this shouldn't take you
more than a few hours to complete.

We know for the work involved we aren't giving a lot of money. But
this is a hobby site for us and when one's ROI (Return on Investment)
is measured in Fun, it's difficult for us to spend any more money on
the site!

We apologize for the novella of a question here, but we wanted to make
things clear. Please do not hesitate to ask for clarification or to
emai. We can be reached by emailing info(at)MyAdventureGame.com.
We really look forward to experiencing your game!!!

Don't forget, the game will be eligible for the $100 contest (see the
website) and we tip (fairly well) for a job well done.

Again thanks in advance.

Whew!

Well, it's finally done!

It's just a cute little game that I thought would fit what you are
looking for well - and I certainly enjoyed making it!

If you need any clarification, or if you have any problems with the
game (typos, too racy, too simple), then please point me in the right
direction.

Thanks for the question!

It certainly is entertaining and has a good amount of interactivity.
Sweet~!

Please feel free to let us know if you had any problems with the

the website.

Thanks Again!

Thanks for the feedback!

Well, I used the basic game editor, rather than the advanced, and
frankly, it's quite an original and well-constructed idea of yours.

Here are a few things that could be improved in the basic editor, but
I am sure some of these are rectified in the more advanced editor:

1. The ability to upload images while contructing the game, rather
than having to return "My Games", and change to "My Pictures", then
upload, then go back to the game editing.

2. The ability to make minor changes to the uploaded images - most
importantly size and position.

3. A more effectively organised system of the different routes
throughout the adventure. I mean that the scroll down menu is rather
confusing when one is trying to organise the different paths of the
game.

4. The use of variables (being able to change "she" to "he" in
following pages depending on an earlier choice)

Other than those details I believe you have created an excellent site
- I loved "Finals Week"! But I'm stuck!

Thanks again.

hey there bobby_D-ga!!
this is march5th00, the author of Finals week and one of the
co-creators of the website. I was very flattered by your appreciation
of my game, and thought that if you're interested i'd give you some
basic tips on how to get straight A's or F's. Figuring out how to get
one will make the other much easier. Here are two important tips.
First, You need BOTH the Sleeping Pills and the Ginkgo Biloba that can
be found on the second day. Secondly, the "girlfriend" sequence at
the end of the game that seems incredibly complex is not the source of
either an A or an F. Hopefully this helps, and hopefully you still
have interest in completing the game.
Thanks for making a great game, and we hope you'll come by every once
and a while and check up on our site.
