Question ID: 132779
I want to make a documentary using my computer.
I want to start with a particular song to which I want to put
accompanying pictures.
I then want to have a virtual human like character narrate my text
using proper
lip sync.
I want a further range of characters, including children to pose
questions and various pictures and illustrations to be included
finally, I want to be able to transfer the finished product to a video
(preferably} or a cd.
Is there software available that a non-expert, non-programmer can use
to
achieve this?
If so, what is it and how much (approximately) will it cost?

Hi elwaenco,

What you are looking at is animation. Some of the things that you want
to do pre-suppose a few issues.

Some questions first.

1. Can you draw? I mean draw those human characters with pencil on
paper?
2. What is the configuration of your computer? If necessary, are you
willing to invest in some additional hardware (apart from the
software) that may be necessary and/or aid you in what you want to
achieve?

You don't necessarily have to be a programmer to achieve your ends.
However, it is good if you can draw, maybe even necessary! Do let me
know and I will pursue your question further.

Warm regards
Vinods-ga

Which operating system do you have on your computer... (Windows XP,
Mac OSX, Linux, etc.)?

Which brand and model computer do you have? Which processor does it
have?

If you happen to know, which video card do you have?

Do you have Microsoft Office? If so, which version?

Depending upon the answers to these questions, you may have nearly
everything you need... except one thing, which can be downloaded for
free.

I assume that you want the computer to animate your talking characters
for you, correct?

thanks for looking into my question
I failed to express myself clearly so I hope I can clarify.

There seems to be a number of software programs available to do at
least some of what I need. What I wanted was an expert who was
familiar with the various
software to advise me of the best.
I don't want to draw anything. I believe there is software that can
provide
ready-made characters (POSER) and/or can create a 3D image from a
scanned
photo. What's the best of these?
Software can also take text and create characters that lipsync the
words
and even provide a range of voices from child to female to male.
what's
the best of these?
Finally, assuming I'm able to put pictures to the music I have in mind
and
then assuming I can have talking characters saying my text in my
computer,
what's the best way to synthesize it all into a good presentation
medium?
CD? DVD? Video?
Please tell me what my computer hardware requirements would be

Thanks and best regards

Here's another site that can provide libraries of ready made
characters:

[Archvision's RPCNET.com]
http://www.rpcnet.com/

However I believe lip synching is not within the scope of any ready
made characters.
