The Address book is associated with a .pab extension. He (hopefully) may have just disassociated it. If that's the case, just do a search on your computer for all files ending with .pab You can then add it back in. Check in the Outlook help file for adding a personal address book for detailed instructions if you are able to locate that file. If the file itself was deleted, check your recylcle bin, you can restore it if it's still in there. If it's not there, you have two choices. Build it back up from scratch or send your drive to a professional data recovery service. (Even when a file is deleted, it's not really deleted completely. It can often be recovered) However, data recovery services are quite expensive ranging from a hundred dollars up to a couple thousand. |

You may not have to send your drive to anyone, even if the file was 'deleted'. Deleted files usually still reside on the hard drive, however the pointer(kind of like a shortcut) to the file is gone. You may be able to recover it using software, there are many companys that sell software for this purpose, here is a link to just one: http://www.ontrack.com/software/ do a "data recovery" google search |
