Hi,

Thank you for your question. Please give me a little more detail to
work on. What type of an answer are you expecting for this question?
Do you have a certain pattern in mind? By community developement, are
you referring to any particular geographical region?

Regards,
Shiv Reddy

Hello lingy-ga,

“A United Nations definition refers to community development as a
process of social action in which the people of a community organise
themselves for planning and action; define their common and individual
needs and solve their problems; make plans which rely as much as
possible on community resources, also using when necessary services
and materials from government and non-government agencies outside the
community. Community development helps people to develop economically
and socially viable communities which can assist, strengthen and
adequately support individual and family growth, and enhance the
quality of life.”

I’ve collected several examples of community development projects and
resources to help you with your further explorations of the subject. I
hope you find them helpful for your need to learn about the stages and
elements of community development. Best wishes for continuing your
research.

Hello lingy-ga,

I'd be delighted to give you the most useful information for your
project. To that end, I'd appreciate getting more information about
what you're looking for. Community development is by definition
specific to geographic, political, ethnic, social and other boundaries
of the community you're plannning to work with. Your question was
completely generic and you didn't respond to the earlier clarification
so I gave you a broad-based answer that could apply in many
situations. Please give me some more information about what you mean
by "urban development," which country, state, community is involved?
What concerns or problems is your development project supposed to deal
with. The more information you can give, the better I will be able to
answer you.
