Hi hedge!

There are many opinions about what made the first lunar landing
significant.  Some would say it was significant simply because no one
had done it before.  Others would say it was because the US Space
Program beat the Soviets to it.  Whatever your own opinion on the
subject, there are plenty of pages discussing it.

Some of the Information is great but I need what the world got out of
the space race also

The last link on the list points to an enormous list of sites
discussing the moon landing in particular and the space race in
general.  You should be able to find a discussion of "what the world
got out of the space race" (besides Tang, Teflon and pens that write
upside down) at one of those sites.

Granted, I did my research over three years ago, but there are some
