Hello Plumis,
According to Your Septic System - A Reference Guide for Homeowners,
antifreeze is not safe as you can poison your septic system and the
groundwater as it can kill the beneficial bacteria that treat your
wastewater.
Tips to Avoid Trouble:
DON'T use commercial septic tank additives. These products usually do
not help and some may hurt your system in the long run.
DON'T use your toilet as a trash can by dumping nondegradables down
your toilet or drains.
Don't poison your septic system and the groundwater by pouring harmful
chemicals down the drain. They can kill the beneficial bacteria that
treat your wastewater.
Keep the following materials out of your septic system:
NONDEGRADABLES:grease, disposable diapers, plastics, etc.
POISONS: gasoline, oil, paint, paint thinner, pesticides, antifreeze,
etc.

Septic systems require periodic check-ups and proper care to remain
healthy and function properly. They must have a healthy diet to
prevent groundwater and soil contamination as well as costly repair
bills.
Keep all toxic and hazardous chemicals out of your septic systems.
Even small amounts of these chemicals can destroy the biological
digestion taking place within your system.

systems.

B.F. Environmental Consultants also advises against antifreeze in the
septic system.
Since the septic system relies on bacteria to assist in the
decomposition and transformation of the pollutants in the wastewater,
it is critical that hazardous chemical, non-organic material, or very
complex organic materials not be introduced to the system.
Antifreeze is one of the items that should not be flushed down the
toilet or otherwise added to the septic tank:
