i am a small accounting firm with employees in both arizona and new
york. recently my medical insurance premiums went up substantially.
as i understand it, if i lease back my employees i become part of a
larger group, therefore i may be able to get lower medical insurance
rates. the employee leasing firm generally provides payroll services.

i am looking for a list of employee leasing firms in arizona and new
york. the firms do not have to do business in both states.

i know a lot of firms that may be interested in employee leasing and
am thinking of being a representative of the employee leasing firm.

i guess i was not clear enough since this was my first time.

i was looking for a firm that would make my employees (3 to 4) theirs
and i would lease them back. since the employees would be part of a
much larger group (in the thousands), the larger firm could negotiate
lower medical insurance premiums ( the major reason for me leasing my
employees back).

the firms you provided me provide payroll services, not leasing
services. they may have temporary help (i am not looking for this).

in google i entered employee leasing medical benefits and got back
www.pcipeo.com. this is the type of firm i am looking for.

i hope you can help me.

Hi again. Thanks for asking a clarification before making a rating.

In terms of the PCI website which you found, they said that they area
kind of PEO or a professional employer organization. The NAPEO is a
national organization of such companies. They have a per state listing
of member companies.

Since the link does not go to the immediate list for Arizona or New
York go to the following Member Directory Page first. (Please follow
the step by step procedure)

1. http://www.napeo.org/find/members.htm (Click on this link)
2. Then Select a state like Arizona or New York.
3. Finally click on the "Search by State/Province" button and you will
be taken on the listing per state.

I would also like to point out that the first 11 firms I mentioned for
Arizona were actually the types of services you are looking for.

I hope this clears all up and I do hope that you would be able to make
use of this information.

Again if you still require further data or information please just ask
for another clarification.

Best Regards,

Please be very careful in selecting a PEO. I used one in 2000 and 2001
and was left high and dry when my PEO went out of business. There's a
lot of consolidation/acquisitions in that marketplace. We knew enough
to ask about the financial status of the company, and the company only
4 months prior had been listed in a major business publication as
large, financially strong and growing. What we found out later was
that this publication (possibly based on info provided by the PEO)
considered all of the payments you make towards the PEO service,
including payroll and insurance premiums, as INCOME... falsely
inflating the financial viability of the company by making the income
appear large, when really it's coming in the door and right back out
again to pay your staff and their benefits. Also, during this time, we
saw an increase of 30% in our service fees and premiums. In 1999 we
used a PEO called Primesource. At they time they were excellent, and
their insurance carrier was Trustmark, who was also excellent. But...
I've had trouble locating them since and they may be out of business.
The last PEO we used was HR Logic. They are now defunct. Guess what
happens when they go defunct?.. there's no COBRA and there's nothing
you can do about it. My husband has preexisting conditions, and went
uninsured until we decided for him get a different job with health
benefits. Now he's got a 12 month duration where the first 10K of
condition-related expenses will not be covered. Overall, I think that
PEOs are a good solution for small business... I just can't figure out
how they make enough margin to support the infrastructure it takes to
keep them operational. Until I can find one that works for my tiny
business, we are using a non-profit buyer's group called The Alliance
for Affordable Services. Their website is
http://www.affordableservices.org/default.asp. They do not provide
payroll services, and if that is secondary to the insurance, that may
be acceptable to you. My premium for myself and my children is $220 a
month. (They did not take my husband because of pre-existing
conditions.) They also have a variety of other services you get as a
"member" like bad check collection, buying services, a "medical
discount" program (this is not insurance), ... and a business
consultant help line with unlimited access via phone or email -- even
every day. "Caveat emptor" and good luck with your search.
