I am looking for online resources (explanatory web sites, emailable
contact people, etc.) for Anglican prayer beads -- the history of
them, how to make them and where to buy them. Optionally (not critical
for the answer, but would be nice): how to market them.

Jhabley..

Thank you for your interesting question. A fairly new form of prayer,
having been developed in the mid 198's, Anglican prayer beads are 33
beads, made up of 4 groups of 7 beads. These groups are called Weeks
and are divided by 4 Cruciform beads. A Cross followed by a single
Invitatory bead leads one into the circle of prayer of the Beads. The
Weeks symbolize of the days of Creation, the temporal week, the
seasons of the Church year, and the seven Sacraments. The Cruciform
beads point to the Cross as the central symbol of salvation, as well
as remind of the four seasons of the temporal year, and the four
points on a compass.

Below, I have provided several links with information on Anglican
prayer beads. Several of them have links for purchasing. This will
give you an idea of marketing the beads. The link to Praxis should be
extremely helpful as that is the organization who determined the
standard for the Anglican rosary.

If you need any additional clarification, please let me know.

Regards,

-THV

This is very helpful, thank you. Are you able to find out any more
about the history, other than it was developed in the 80s? i.e. By
whom and for what reason?

Jhableyt...
The Reverend Lynn Bauman of Praxis (http://www.praxisofprayer.com/)
designed the 33 bead layout and has written about the Anglican Rosary
in "The Anglican Rosary" which can be ordered from Praxis Press at
http://www.praxisofprayer.com/publications/

Hope this helps!
