Hi,

Could you please repharse the question so that I can establish what
articles in particular you are looking for. There seems to be a lot of
literature involving this case.

Warmest Regards and Season's Greetings,
Shiv Reddy

Hi Shiv, Thanks for helping, finally figured out how to clarify.OK ,the
law suit was supposedly filed right before Muktananda's death. About
Sept 1982,for molesting children ,and was never followed through
because he died.So SYDA buried it ,the story goes. I heard a woman
named Diane Shelton might be the one that filed it. Was an article in
NY Times about it so it is said, Thanks, this is important if we can
find this out.I hope you can.
                 Warm regards to you also,adlaxmi

Hi,

Thank you for the clarification. I have looked up several resources
and have'nt found a mention of a child abuse lawsuit against Swamiji.
I will keep looking. In the meantime if there are any extra details
you might have regarding this case, please post them here. Though
there are several disturbing references to Swamiji's conduct, nothing
concrete has been established so far. The only resource that is left
unchecked are the actual NY times archives which will hopefully be
done in a couple of days. Thank you very much for your patience.

Yours Sincerely,
Shiv Reddy

Hi,Shiv and raging,Thanks for the searching so far.Yes ,I am well
aware of the disturbing articles on Muk.Abuses. There is a website
called leaving Siddha Yoga w/ many articles.I am particularly
interested in this article that is supposedly from the NY TImes ,as I
said, or anything about his later years that went on to young
children.I wish I knew more ,but these are the only clues I have from
my source.I believe the women that knew about this has been silenced,
as have many over the years by SYDA.This is speculation on my part, but
that others have been harassed and silenced is not. Happy New
Year!adlaxmi

adlaxmi and shiv -

Perhaps this will help -

"Swami Muktananda Paramahansa, who died in India in 1982, opened 62
meditation centers in North America during the 1970s and attracted
some 20,000 devotees. Known as "the guru's guru" and "swami of the
stars," his reputation was posthumously tainted by a 1983 article in
CoEvolution Quarterly on "The Secret Life of Swami Muktananda.""

"Based on interviews with past and present disciples, the article
alleged that Muktananda seduced young girls, stashed funds in a Swiss
bank account and privately exhibited a sometimes violent, vindictive
temperament."

This is from the San Francisco Chronicle,

thanks and Happy New Year!
