after a format & clean install of windows xp pro & ie6, what is the default font-family and size displayed by ie6 for a basic standalone HTML document (no stylesheet, font-face attributes, just plain text between <body></body> tags & nothing special in the <head></head>. eg 'arial' '12pt' (just made those up to illustrate the 2 pieces of info I'm looking for.) The briefest of answers will suffice. |

Hello gan, Having never changed my ie 6 fonts and using Windows XP Professional, the default web page font is Times New Roman and the default size is 12. This is exactly the same in Windows XP Home edition (checked my other pc). I found a source to back this up here: "The defaults right after installing the browser are: font = Times New Roman and Courier New font size = Medium" http://www.jegsworks.com/Lessons/web/basics/step-iesettings.htm Note that Courier New is the default plain text font (txt file in IE) and that medium translates to a size of 12pt. Let me know if you need any clarifications regarding this answer and I will do my best to further assist you. tisme-ga Search Strategy: times new roman ie6 default ://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=times+new+roman+ie6+default checking my own machines |
