Peter Maass, NOT Peter Maas, wrote a story for the New York Time in 1997 about youth suicide. It was not published. The editors decided it would not be appreciated reading by its populations. He told me what he learned while talking with friends and family of a suicide victim would influence him....and his writings. I have tried to follow his writings since that time. I need to know what happened to the story. I want so much to read it. I believe its publication somewhere....especially with a non-profit organization that can get the message out to people, would help so many. Both youth and the adults that care for them. I believe it is all in learning how to express your true feelings in communication..and a whole lot more but that it beyond the needed details you want. I once was a professional educator, now living on very limited funds. Youth suicide has greatly affected my life and I need to find out what happened to Peter's story. |

I'm not sure what you'd consider a satisfactory answer, Glennbo, so I'm posting this as a comment. Mr. Maass seems to an accessible journalist. As you may already know, he maintains a Weblog at http://www.petermaass.com, and notes that he can be contacted at email at peter@petermaass.com. My suggestion would be to email him and ask if he'd send you a copy of the unpublished article (if unpublished it still is :-). You might also bring up your idea of having the article printed by a non-profit to Mr. Maass for his opinion. Hope this helps. regards, rico |
