The British Museum Newspaper Library, Colindale, North West London have originals of the Marylebone Mercury and West London Gazette numbers 2181-4225 covering the dates 23 Sept. 1899 - 26 Nov. 1938. http://prodigi.bl.uk/nlcat/record.ASP?lngMTitle=1137 Full details of the library and its services can be found at: http://www.bl.uk/catalogues/newspapers.html and http://www.bl.uk/collections/services.html From personal experience I recommend you arrange a readers ticket before your visit and also book the relevant volume just before your visit. It will save you time. If you cannot travel to London, the library staff will not do the research for you but they can refer you to a freelance researcher. Some newspapers in the collection are originals, whilst others are on microfilm. See how a copy of the newspaper is prepared: http://www.bl.uk/collections/copy.html Please ask for clarification of this research, or if the links do not work, before rating the answer. answerfinder-ga Search strategy Personal experience. |
