Hello bobfeder-ga, I just noticed your question now; I'm surprised that none of the other Researchers noticed it earlier. I hope that the information I provide is still helpful to you and your wife. The federal government has a web site called DisabilityInfo.gov ( http://disabilityinfo.gov ), which includes a section on housing ( http://www.disabilityinfo.gov/Housing/ ). You might want to click on the links to see what looks most useful to you. The best links I found were these: "Vouchers for People with Disabilities" U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) http://www.hud.gov/offices/pih/programs/hcv/pwd/ "Modification Funds" HUD http://www.hud.gov/library/bookshelf09/modifica.cfm Pennsylvania has a similar web site called Accessible PA ( http://www.accessiblepa.state.pa.us/accessiblepa/site/default.asp ), which likewise has a section on housing ( http://www.accessiblepa.state.pa.us/accessiblepa/cwp/browse.asp?a=2&bc=0&c=15876&accessiblepaNav=|244| ). This page includes a link to loan program for modification or purchase of homes for persons with disabilities: "PHFA/Fannie Mae Disability Access Modification Loan Program" Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency http://www.phfa.org/fanniemae/index.htm I hope that this works out well for both of you. - justaskscott-ga Search terms used on Google: disability housing site:gov disability housing pennsylvania |
