No - SAL 703 S1 is volume 2 (refer again to the above address); what I
need is
Epic (Eu) EPC-460418-2 or CBS Associated ZK-40934, which is volume 1.
The tracks on the CD are:

a. Well You Needn't (Thelonius Monk) - 15:12
b. Placitude (Frank Wess) - 12:21
c. Surge (Frank Wess) - 9:53
d. Willow Weep for Me (Ann Ronell) - 8:12
e. Mediterranean Seascape (Hanna) - 15:39

Dear herb,

While I found the LP version of this album relatively often during my
search, the CD seems to be extremely rare indeed. Nevertheless, I
managed to detect a single shop on the whole Web where this CD is for
sale. This is High Street Records, a record store located in the
United Kingdom. You can find their website here:

http://www.highstreetrecords.co.uk/

To find the CD of the New York Jazz Quartet, please click "Back List",
then choose "Sony" (since CBS is part of Sony now) and use the arrows
at the lower end of the page to go to the third part of the Sony list.
Or, use simply this link:

http://www.highstreetrecords.co.uk/backlist/wiz021.html

Note that the entry for the CD is by mistake located between the
Artists "N'Dour, Youssou" and "Nas", but it is there. And it is
doubtlessly the CD version, because it is titled as "In Concert In
Japan, 1", while the LP did not have a volume number.

I'm sorry to say that I can not give you the price of the CD because
the store's online shopping system seems to have a slight malfunction,
but you might want to contact High Street Records yourself to inquire
price and availability:

E-Mail: info@highstreetrecords.co.uk
Telephone: +441945465887
Address: High Street Records, 30 High Street, Wisbech, Cambs., PE13
1DE, United Kingdom

I hope you will now get the CD you desire so much!

A search at Amazon.com yielded a private seller selling this album as
an LP. What you could do is buy the LP and then either record it to CD
yourself, or pay a professional shop to do so. It shouldn't be much of
a loss in quality as the original CD would have been recorded from the
same recording as the LP. More info at
