I currently have a leased SUV and would like to know the best way to either buy or get out of the lease early. I don't have to keep the vehicle. I would rather get another. |

I can offer a few possibilities, however without knowing the exact situation and lease terms, an exact answer would be difficult. There are several options, including: Early Termination: Consult your lease - specifically the disclosure form - to find out the cost of an early lease termination. This is typically a very expensive option, often equal to the amount of the remaining payments Early Purchase: You could also offer to purchase the vehicle early and get out from the lease. YOu would have better luck with a smaller organization. You could probably negotiate a lower price than the total remaining payments and buyout cost. Lease Sale/Trade: You can "sell" your lease or transfer your lease to others. There are number of sites for this, including: http://www.swapalease.com http://www.leasetrader.com/e/home.asp Other sites of interest: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2002/05/29/earlyshow/contributors/raymartin/main510469.shtml http://www.leaseguide.com/index2.htm http://www.autoleaseco.com/lease_info.html Hope this helps |
