The use by the UN of the term "In-Transition" is a recent development
within the last ten years. It lists nations that are not still in
"developing" (third world) status but also are not yet "developed"
(indistrialized or first world). In transition-countries are often
considered "second world" countries.

I can accept a recent developing country list alone if it is an update
within the past two or three years.

Hope this helps.

Thanks.

I have seen some indication that the United Nations Conference on
Trade and Development defines the category "in transition countries"
with reference to a list by the Organization for Economic Cooperation
and Development. Would you be interested in that list as the second
part of your answer?

I should note that the list of "developing countries" published by the
United Nations Conference on Trade and Development includes countries
in the "in transition" list of the Organization for Economic
Cooperation and Development.

Hi

I located the DAC list as of January 1, 2000 of Developing Countries
and Territories and of Countries and Territories in Transition.

“The ORGANISATION FOR ECONOMIC CO-OPERATION AND DEVELOPMENT (OECD's)
Development Assistance Committee (DAC) is the principal body through
which the Organisation deals with issues related to co-operation with
developing countries. The mission of the DAC is to foster
co-ordinated, integrated, effective and adequately financed
international efforts in support of sustainable economic and social
development.”

Would you be interested in this list?

Thanks

Whatever UN List dated no later than 2002 that includes developing and
in-transition countries and distinguishes between them (on the
list)would be acceptable.
