Question ID: 136939
please provide COMPLETE DETAILS OF thermal and kinetic data for
p-xylene production
through toluene disproportionation including side reactions, flow
diagram, chemical and physical data required to calculate mass and
energy
balance to design a chemical plant. equilibrium reactor reaction
temperature:400-425 degrees and pressure:20-25barg. please provide all
the information for distlation cloumn designing in each by-product
separation. i request you to perform all the calculations of Mass and
energy balance for this process.
Process involves:
1).by-products:benzene, ethylebenzene,tri-methyl benzene,methyl ethyl
benzene,
 and fuel gas.
2).final product :p-xylene.
3). conversion limit:45-50%
4).material balance across 150000tons/year conventional
disproportionation process:
 Components flow(tonns/hr) I/P O/P
  Hydrogen 0.4 -
  Fuel gas - 1.1
  Benzene - 18.1
  Toluene 41.2 -
  Ethyl benzene - 0.9
  Mixed Xylenes - 18.5
  c9 compounds - 3.0

assumptions: hydrogen gas is used as inert and will be recyled after
removing 40% as purge of recyle. unreacted toluene will be recyled
back to fresh feed in.
ortho, meta, para xylenes product ratio:1:2:1.
