I have an email address of alsmith@epix.net and I cannot get it to
work. Is there any way to tell whether the address has changed or
whether I'm just typing it in wrong?

Is this your email address or are you trying to send to it? If you are
sending, what type of error are you receiving?

I'm trying to locate someone who graduated from Tulane University in
1989. The email address is one the school alumni office provided me
with. I also confirmed the address on the Camp Cayuga alumni website
which is where he used to be a counselor. I already forgot what the
error message was. Do you want me to try again? It was something like
"listing not found." Thanks

Hi there,

There are some free services on the web which can check the validity
of an email address. They do not send an email, but just anonymously
ask the mail server if the address is valid.

According to these two services, your spelling of the email address is
correct:

VerifyEmail
http://www.verifyemail.com/verify.php

Schwarzl
http://www.schwarzl.com/mailcheck.html?action=query&puser=alsmith&phost=epix.net

What cannot be checked is how often, if ever, the person checks their
email.

Search strategy: personal bookmarks

Best wishes,
