I am interested in information about an artist named Tanner. I'm not even sure if this artist is a man or a woman. I am particularly interested in his/her works, Intersection I and Intersection II. Whatever information you can give me about who he/she is, general time period of his/her work, stories about his/her works, medium, any meaning behind his/her works, etc. Essentially, all I have found on my own is several web-sites selling his/her posters (http://www.postershop.com/Tanner-p.html). I'm not exactly a connoisseur of art, but I enjoy these works and would like some more information. |

Hi there! The artist Tanner is a young woman, just 30 years old. She says about her work: "I see my work as an expression of organic forms within structure, the intense young artist explains. It's such a challenge...every canvas is filled with endless possibilities." [ http://www.globalgallery.com/bios/tanner.html ] I suspect Ms. Tanner isn't interested in being tracked down. The exact biography noted above is also found at Michaels.com, word for word! [ http://www.michaels.com/art/artprints/artistBio?artistid=657 ] Even so, I noticed that her work is displayed and distributed by Bruce McGaw Graphics, of West Nyack, New York, so I've put an e-mail in to them to ask if they can tell us a little bit more. I suspect their policy may be such that they can't (or won't) tell us anything beyond what I've already tracked down, but we may end up pleasantly surprised! If it turns out that they *can* provide a little more information, I'll post it here as a clarification. I hope this scratches the itch! The work *is* enchanting! Regards, missy-ga | |

I'm a bit upset that the last part of my agreement with Google did not go through yet, so I'm one confirmation away from being a Researcher. However, since I've looked up the info anyway, here's a freebie (and thus not official or a full answer): http://www.grandimage.com/view_collection.php?query=YXJ0aXN0X2lkPTQ4&artist_id=48 If you take a look at the image you provided, you see it says "Phoenix Art Group"... so I searched for that, along with Tanner, and this only a click away. ://www.google.com/search?q=tanner+phoenix+art+group But wait, there's more! A little lower in the search we see Henry Tanner, listed for two of the paintings under Sarah Tanner's collected works on the other site: http://www.comweb.com.au/catalogue/thumbs_f/thumbs_f1.html ://www.google.com/search?q=sarah+henry+tanner+%22phoenix+art+group%22 Sarah and Henry are never mentioned together. What's going on here? My best guess is man/woman who has undergone a sex change, or the first page with the rather complete collection of Tanner material has somehow gotten the name wrong. Again, this answer is most certainly not fully researched, though it goes a bit beyond the depths of what you asked for anyway. Here's some thumbnails from *Henry* Tanner's work: http://www.comweb.com.au/catalogue/artthumbs/tanner_henry_phoenix_art_group.html Finally, as it seems particularly clear the Phoenix Art Group is managing this artist's work, along with about 100 others, you may contact their sales department, and presumably get more information directly from the source: http://www.phxartgroup.com/sales.htm Hope this proves helpful. |

Sex change operation...when you hear galloping, think horses not zebras. |
