I am trying to market a newly published book on out of body
experiences, and I would like to find out if there is a publication or
listing of new age and/or metaphysical book stores in the United
States that would include addresses and phone numbers. I have already
located a website url: www.seekerscircle.com, but would like to know
what other references there might be available. Can you help?

Hello csls-ga,

The most comprehensive list I have seen -- and one suggested by
several other new age and metaphysical pages, including the other two
lists in this answer -- is:

"Metaphysical Stores Around The World", by queen@monmouth.com (queen)
(Last-change: August 27, 1998)
Welcome to the Jersey Shore
http://www.monmouth.com/~queen/sources.html

As you can see, this list contains the addresses and telephone numbers
for brick-and-mortar metaphysical stores -- "physical metaphysical"
stores, if you prefer ;-) -- across the United States. The two
drawbacks of this list are that is more than four years old and that
it does not indicate whether stores without the word "book" in their
name sell books. However, it should be fairly easy, from a quick
telephone call, to determine whether a particular metaphysical store
remains in business and sells books.

A list that you could use to supplement the first list is:

"Bookstores"
SpiritWritings.com
http://www.spiritwritings.com/bookstores.html

It has a few advantages over the first list: every store on the list
carries books; the web sites for the stores are listed; and, given
that most of the web sites appear to be current, the list is probably
fairly current too. The disadvantages are that the list does not
itself contain addresses or indicate whether the store has a
brick-and-mortar component; you would have to check the web site or
call the store in order to find out.

A third list is:

"Stores of Interest to Pagans/Wiccans"
Covenant of the Goddess - Northern California Local Council
http://www.conjure.com/COG/stores.html

This list does not include only bookstores, but it frequently (though
not always) indicates whether the store sells books. It appears to be
about as current as the second list.

I hope that this information is helpful.
