gruschow -

Hi. Thanks for your question.
Could you please clarify a bit -
You say Georg Johann Freidrich GRUESCHOW was:
+ born 1860
+ died 1860
+ got married in 1843 (17 years before he was born??)

Could you please rephrase your question?
I have found some leads and would like to pursue further, but I would
like to make sure I understand your request properly.

thanks,
ragingacademic

Sorry. Date of birth 16 Feb.,1786. That means he was 67 when he
married Marianne. And is my sole grounds for assumeing he had an
earlier marriage.
Jack Gruschow

Dear gruschow,

I tried to do research on your question, but all I found out is that
Marianne Sophie Rönnberg was born 22 August 1818 and that the exact
date of marriage was 24 April 1843.
The problem is that no civil registration of marriages, births,
deaths, etc. was in use in the former state Mecklenburg-Schwerin prior
to 1864. Before that date, such things were recorded only by the local
churches, if at all.
The only possibility I see for getting answers would be contacting the
churches of Sternberg and Güstrow (in the German Land of
Mecklenburg-Vorpommern today) to ask whether they still have the old
files and if something about Georg Grüschow can be found.

Best regards,

Dear gruschow,

I have spent the lasr days trying to find information on a possible
earlier marriage of Georg Johann Friedrich Grüschow. I had no success.
But I have extremely good contacts to persons in Northern Germany,
very near former Mecklenburg-Schwerin. They could find out the
addresses of the churches and the church offices holding the old
marriage files for the towns of Güstrow and Sternberg. Do you want me
to try provide you that data?

Best regards,

Writing the churches in Germany is one way to get the answers, but a
quicker way would be to go to your local Family History Center of the
Mormon Church (every major city has at least one). Almost all of the
Mecklenburg churchbooks have been microfilmed and are available for
loan. First determine which church district your town falls in and
then check the microfiche for the correct film numbers. Last time I
checked it cost 3.50 per film for 6 weeks of loan.
I was able to trace my family back to the early 1700 just through this
one resource.

How am I supposed to find which church? I have already just about worn
out my welcome at LDS.

Do you have a date of death and place of death for Georg? What were
his children's names and did they eventually marry? What were Georg's
parents names?

SINCERELY,
