I am searching for the original trial record, if one exists, of a case
that took place in the Corte d'Assise of Turin, Italy, in 1905. The
defendants were Tullio Murri and Dr. Pio Naldi, tried for the murder,
in Bologna, of Franscesco Bonmartini. Tried along with them for
complicity were Dr. Carlo Secchi, Rosina Bonetti, and Linda Murri
Bonmartini. The president of the court was Ernesto Dusio. the Murri
case was famous---was on the front pages of Corriere della Sera and
other newspapers from the time of the murder---1902---until the time
appeals were exhausted---1906. I do not know whether the original
trial record is in Turin or whether the records were moved to the
Ministry of Justice in Rome, or where are located such pieces of
evidence as the letters presented during the trial. can anybody help
me locate them so that I can consult the primary source, rather than
secondary sources?

I have been able to find very few online references to the case and
most of those refer to the movie. But Antiquarian bookshop Gozzini has
one document.

http://www.gozzini.com/catalogo/62/Cat_62.pdf

The catalogue 62 advertises item 71,

"AMPLIUS Rivalaziona sul processo Murri. La ricostruzione del dilitti
su confessioni di P. Naldi" with illustrations, and lacking the back
cover, for 14 Euros.

This is obviously another secondary source, promising as it does
"revelations" and a "reconstruction" but it may be one you have not
come acros, if it is still available.

A True Crime bibliographical site a:

http://www.lamanonera.com/bibliografia2.html

lists this volume (by Vincenzo Tazzari - Amplius is the publisher) as
well as these:

"Augusto Guido Bianchi, Autopsia di un delitto: processo Murri
Bonmartini, Milano, Libreria editrice nazionale, 1904.

Mario Casalini, Confessioni di Tullio Murri a un compagno di cella,
Torino, Libreria Piccarolo, 1905.

Teodolinda Murri, Dalla leggenda alla veritý: epistolario intimo
Murri-Bonmartini: la cassa n. 4; Torino, Streglio, 1905.

Vincenzo Morello, Processo Murri: i delitti della gente onesta:
l'arringa pro Secchi, Roma; Torino, 1906."

I assume Teolinda Murri to be a family member.

There also seems to be a section on the case in:

Antonio Vellani, Sangue, amore e nobiltý, (- roughly - "Blood, love
and nobility" !)Fabbri, Milano, 1983 [Casi Trigona-PaternÚ, Murri,
Bellentani, Casati].

If you do a Google search under "murder Francesco Bonmartini" it will
list this page along with an option to have it automatically
translated into rather odd English, should you need it.

Good luck.

To the kind people who offered secondary sources: Thanks very much. I
have all these. I am trying to locate the PRIMARY documents, that is,
the trial record which is bound to be in some judicial archive. But
many thanks anyway.
