Hi brudenell,
So far, I've only been able to find the soundtrack of "Murder One"
available from one source.
Australian Soundtracks: TV Themes All of Your Favorites CD: US$6.00 +
shipping.
http://users.bigpond.net.au/nodette/AussieST/SALE/CD028.htm
It states "As New", so perhaps it is a used copy, I don't know. Their
email address is nnodette@bigpond.net.au
Their homepage is here:
http://users.bigpond.net.au/nodette/AussieST/
If you have Real Player, you can listen to the theme here:
Themes Online: Click Series / Murder One: Uses Real Player:
http://www.telesearch.org/themesonline/index.htm
I hope this helps. If you have any questions, please ask for a
clarification before rating my answer.
Sincerely,
hummer

Good to hear from you again hummer-ga
This is a tough one. With Mike Post as the composer and numerous CDs
of his prolific soundtrack work available, I thought that finding a
Murder One opening theme on a new CD would have been a simpler task. I
am not surprised that you uncovered a used item in Australia as the
Murder One series was a hit there while not so in North America. Today
the tune is being used in a commercial for diamonds. Thank you for
your leads.

Hi brudenell,
Sorry, my brain didn't put two & two together to wake me up to the
fact we've met previously. It sounds to me that I haven't provided you
with the answer you were hoping for. Would you like me to withdraw my
answer so another researcher can have a look? Just let me know,
although given it is the weekend, it might not be removed by Google
until Monday. I'll have another look too and let you know if I have
any luck.
Good to hear from you again,
hummer

Hello hummer
A withdrawl of your answer is not being requested. Thank you for
offering but I do appreciate your efforts. I too have searched the web
for this elusive music on a new CD, however I am only a moderately
experienced surfer. I am hoping Researcher honed skills + your access
to the Researcher internal network will lead to better success than
mine. If you don't mind giving it another shot I'll wait.
Best regards
Brudenell

Hi again,
Okey dokey, I'll see what I can do, but I'm just wondering why you
don't want to consider the used copy. Did you email Australia and ask
about the condition? If not, would you like me to do it on your
behalf? If he has only one copy, you are taking a chance that it will
still be available later - just something to think about.
I'll be back in touch Monday -

Hi brudenell,
Here's a good Murder One site. It includes several ways to download
the theme.
http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/1120/murder1.html
There's a newsgroup there that you could subscribe to - perhaps
someone in the community will know of a new cd.
Sorry, I tried, but the Australian cd seems to be the only one readily
available right now. If another researcher finds something else, I'm
sure they'll post it.
Thanks -
hummer

Dear Brudenell,
Thank you for your kind words, five stars and generous tip (so
unexpected). I'm happy you are happy and I hope you are at least
enjoying the tune via your sound card. I've made a note of your
request and will keep an eye (ear) open as I search around cyberspace
- one finds the most amazing things in the most unexpected places.
Perhaps we will meet again - (enjoy your books),
hummer
