Hello!

The appropriate way to contact an actor (or a writer, director, etc.)
is through his or her agent or manager.

I called the Screen Actors Guild (323-954-1600) and got to the Actors’
Location Information Line.  I spoke to Leila, who gave me a business
contact number of 800-347-8684, but it appears to be a pager.
(Normally this line provides very detailed information about an
actor's representation, but may be out of date at the moment for a
number of rather interesting reasons.  I'd be happy to elaborate if
you're interested.)

Since an agent-related comment was posted, I'll elaborate a little on
my first post.  The contract between the ATA (Association of Talent
Agents) is expired, and a proposal has been voted down by SAG members.
(a detailed chronology is available through SAG at
http://www.sag.org/news/ata_020401_summary.pdf ) It is not yet clear
what the effects of this breakdown will be on actor/agent
relationships.

Managers, on the other hand, have never been contracted or
"franchised" with SAG, so for the moment, those relationships may be
more reiable.  Also, managers tend to have fewer clients, so attention
is more personal than at a large agency like ICM.

If you do contact ICM, be sure to write to the attention of Edward
Yablans, James's agent.  (I got his name by calling ICM at
310-550-7822. They can connect you to Mr. Yablans' office.)
