I am trying to find an anti-glare filter for a computer monitor that
is "colored" instead of the standard clear or tinted filters. We are
using a program that forces a white background with black text. The
people using the program complain of eye-strain and headache after
several hours of use (and the colors cannot be changed so this is not
a possible solution). We have tried the standard anti-glare filters
and they do not alleviate the problem. Since they make colored
eyeglasses and colored sunglasses, I thought that surely someone would
make a colored anti-glare screen that would give the entire screen a
tint of green, blue, yellow, whatever. Unfortunately, I have been
unable to locate such an item. I do not want to have to pay some glass
manufacturing facility big bucks to make a custom colored glare filter
for us. I would like for someone to send me info and the link to
someone that produces this item, or someone that could produce one for
a relatively low cost (less than $30-40/each).

well, you could always take a sheet of colored cellophane and stick it
between the monitor and a plain glare filter....

or, you could adjust the settings on your monitor, usually they're
adjustable enough that you can change white things on the screen to be
a variety of other shades....

I'm not convinced, however, that just changing the tint is going to
help with anybody's eyestrain--changing the brightness and/or contrast
might work better.... or changing the screen resolution, the refresh
rate, the font size, etc. good luck!

also, if people are using the program continuously for hours, that's
your problem right there! make sure they get frequent breaks to look
at something else other than their screens....
