I am trying to find an anti-glare filter for a computer monitor that is "colored" instead of the standard clear or tinted filters. We are using a program that forces a white background with black text. The people using the program complain of eye-strain and headache after several hours of use (and the colors cannot be changed so this is not a possible solution). We have tried the standard anti-glare filters and they do not alleviate the problem. Since they make colored eyeglasses and colored sunglasses, I thought that surely someone would make a colored anti-glare screen that would give the entire screen a tint of green, blue, yellow, whatever. Unfortunately, I have been unable to locate such an item. I do not want to have to pay some glass manufacturing facility big bucks to make a custom colored glare filter for us. I would like for someone to send me info and the link to someone that produces this item, or someone that could produce one for a relatively low cost (less than $30-40/each). |

well, you could always take a sheet of colored cellophane and stick it between the monitor and a plain glare filter.... or, you could adjust the settings on your monitor, usually they're adjustable enough that you can change white things on the screen to be a variety of other shades.... I'm not convinced, however, that just changing the tint is going to help with anybody's eyestrain--changing the brightness and/or contrast might work better.... or changing the screen resolution, the refresh rate, the font size, etc. good luck! |

also, if people are using the program continuously for hours, that's your problem right there! make sure they get frequent breaks to look at something else other than their screens.... |
