If you are in the area the best place to start would be the East
Lothian Local History Centre at
http://www.eastlothian.gov.uk/Libraries/loch.html

They state " We do not offer a research service, as we do not have
time to deal with in-depth research. However, we welcome enquiries and
will check sources if enough information is given. "

That page also has links to East Lothian Museums Service, SCRAN
(Scottish Cultural Resources Access Network) and others, including
digitisation projects.

Historically, Old Craighall was part of Midlothian. It was only
'given' to East Lothian in the 1970s, as part of local government
reorganisation.

Old material on Midlothian is likely to be stored at the Edinburgh
Central Library, probably in the Edinburgh Room:
Address: George IV Bridge , Edinburgh , EH1 1EG
Tel: 0131 242 8030 ,
Fax: 0131 242 8035
Email: edinburgh.room@edinburgh.gov.uk
http://www.edinburgh.gov.uk/servlet/Qs?IDC=CEC/Recreation/Leisure/Data/Edinburgh_Room/Edinburgh_Room.idc

They cover areas further away from central Edinburgh than Old
Craighall and they have a good collection of illustrations:

Edinburgh City Libraries also have a Scottish Department:
http://www.edinburgh.gov.uk/servlet/Qs?IDC=CEC/Recreation/Leisure/Data/Scottish_Library/Scottish_Library.idc

You might possibly find something of interest in this book, "Mining
the Lothians", which includes material on Newcraighall and
Monktonhall, both very near to Old Craighall:
http://www.stenlake.co.uk/books/56.htm

Unfortunately, as Old Craighall is so small, it may be hard to track
down what you want. Good luck!

Sorry None of these have been of any help. I had tried them before
getting in contact with you but looks like I am out of luck
