I would like information on starting a user group for a software
company that develops and distributes ERP systems to a vertical market
in North America.  The user base consists of 500 companies equating to
approximately 3000 end users.

Our initial goals of the user group are…

-further define the development direction of the ERP system
-remain connected to the front line of the industry
-remain connected and intimate with the client base.

The first thing we recently did was selected a handful of
power/influential users from the client base and invited them to an
informal meeting next month to discuss the future of the user group.

We would like some direction on areas we should be focusing on during
this meeting and some direction on what role the user group should
play in our organization.
