How to change MS Access database password using VB.NET ?

Could you clarify whether Access itself (not merely the database
driver) will be available on the machine(s) where you want to do this,
and also whether the current database password (if any) will be known?

Thanks,

I will install my application on Client's computers. I cannot rely on
the existing of the MS Access on Client's computer. Even if it is
installed there, I cannot ask users to do anything outside of my
program. Yes, I will know the previous password. In fact, Users will
type it in order to access the database. Also I need to provide them
with an option to change this password. I already implemented a
solution when a password is stored inside the detabase. What I'd like
to do - to make them use their password in order to even get to that
database.

Also since I asked, someone told me that it is impossible to do.
Please do not waste time on it if you think that it is impossible too.

To my knowledge, it's possible if Access is available (purely from
VB.NET code - it requires access to the Access object model, thus
Access installed, to change the password, but doesn't need the user to
do anything in Access), but impossible with only the Access ODBC
driver installed.

From what you say in your clarification, this doesn't fit your
requirements, but I thought I'd mention it just in case. Let me know
if you'd like it, otherwise I'll drop it here.

Thanks for your clarification,
