According to these postings at the Yahoo! Group for
the RCA-Lyra-mp3 group, when attached to your computer,
the contents of your player's memory will show up in
Windows Explorer as a removable disk, which can be
formatted FAT16, and the contents of which can be
deleted as you would any file in Explorer.

One of the posts also notes that Customer Service is
not very helpful, in that the player is so 'new',
and referred the questioner to the Yahoo! user group
for support, so it seems you'd be wise to join for
ongoing support:

"I called the troubleshooting number, and they said
the player is so new that they don't know how to fix
it yet, and they recommended that I come here."

Supportive text follows:

"For those of you who aren't sure how to format their players, when
your in windows explorer you should see a new removable disk in the
left hand frame, left click on that and select Format...FAT means
FAT16"

when connected your player is a regular removable disk - so, you
should be able to delete any file on your player using "My Computer"
for example"
