Hello verntina

Since you are a member at Weight Watchers meetings, you can sign up as
a member of their web site. The eTools section has an online points
calculator. “Your online Journal instantly calculates POINTS for more
than 16,000 foods.” It also provides you with meal plans and recipes

“You can find an eTools access code in your Weight Watchers eTools
brochure or Week One Getting Started booklet, which can be picked up
at most US meeting locations.”

“By Fax or Mail
1. Make a photocopy of your Weight Watchers Membership Book (front and
back). You must show meeting attendance within the last two weeks.
Lifetime members must demonstrate attendance within the past four
weeks. 2. On the photocopy, please clearly write the following
information: - your first and last name - your daytime phone number
- your home zip code - your email address - the date of your last
meeting Then, please sign and date the photocopy
3. You can send this photocopy to us in the following ways: - fax to
the following number: 1-800-427-6814
or - US mail to WeightWatchers.com, Inc. Columbus Circle Station
PO Box 21053 New York, NY 10023
Important: You must include your return address on your envelope.”

I have also found the following resource, which can be downloaded.
However, it requires you to enter the calories, fat and fiber values
for each food you want to list.

“MS Excel Journal and Points Calculator
This spreadsheet allows you to keep track of the food consumed for a
period of one week and will calculate a point value when entering
calories, fat, and fiber values. The equation used to calculate the
point value is not the same one used by a popular weight loss program
but will give you exactly the same answer. This spreadsheet is an
electronic version of the sliderule and the paper journals they give
you at your first meeting. You can also keep information on your
favorite foods in a data sheet so you don't have to look it up in a
book every time you want to include it in your meals. Instructions are
included in the spreadsheet.”

Otherwise, it appears that Weight Watchers clamp down hard on anyone
who tries to provide any resource linked to their points system Here
are links to sites that used to offer a points calculator but were
forced to remove it:

You might want to check out this forum. They have a lot of resources
including discussion forum for people using Weight Watchers.

http://www.3fatchicks.com is a great resource and also features a
message board area for people on Weight Watchers. The best thing to do
is to use your Points Calculator that they gave you when you signed up
(the cardboard one) and keep a book of points for foods you eat. I did
that and it helped a lot. Another tip someone told me is to calculate
the points then write the pts per serving on the label or box. I used
eTools for about 6 months and found the recipe search helpful but the
boards frustrating. Weight Watchers also has an electronic points
calculator you can buy for $20 (sometimes it's on sale for much less
at meetings). Good luck!

In a slightly related note, about two years ago, I decided to make a
calculator of my own, since a few acquaintances had been on the
program for a while and were troubled by the lack of points
conversion. Check out http://learuirka.xidus.net/calculator.html It
has a number of items in its database, which can be used to give you
the total points conversion for items you're making yourself. It's a
bit crude, since it was the first real project I had tackled, but it
should give you the information you need.
