Hello knowitall22,
What a great question! I was able to find quite a few different
resources that put him well above 6 feet tall.
The most frequent reference I was able to locate, puts him at exactly
6 feet 4 inches tall.
"In an era when most men were little more than five feet tall,
Charlemagne stood six feet, four inches.."
http://www.mrdowling.com/703-charlemagne.html
"Six feet, four inches tall, boundless energy."
http://www.greenville.edu/faculty/dosthart/formationwesternliterature.htm
"He stood six feet four inches tall, which was an unusually great
height for a man of his time."
http://www.nanaellen.com/RDL/time.htm
"He was six feet four inches tall, and built to scale. He had blond
hair, animated eyes, a powerful nose,"
http://www.chronique.com/Library/MedHistory/charlemagne.htm
It seems fairly accurate that he was this height. Other references
simply state that he was over six feet tall, with some putting him at
the near 7 foot mark.
"...he was a huge man, nearly seven feet tall..."

"describes Charles as being moderately tall around six feet tall..."
