Question ID: 138332
How do I go about finding a site that I can not locate and all I have
as a reference is a credit card statement. I think I have some kind
of I.P. address on the statement. It is a 10 digit number written
217-2024744. I also have the name of the company but I can not find
them on the net. I searched yahoo and google and nothing was found on
either. I am interested in a refund of a product that can only be
refunded online after 6 months of the purchase. The name of the
company that shows up on the statement is POWER D PRODUCTIONS, INC. I
do not remember the name of the site but it had to do with penis
enlargement. The price I paid was $49.95 (u.s.) and there was NO
pills or pumps involved, only natural methods. I was hoping you could
find the site.

Thanks,
Tony

As you can see, the ten digit number you have on your credit card
statement is the telephone number belonging to the web site holder. I
got the rest of the information above the old fashioned way - I called
the number and spoke to the person who answered. He gave me the name
of the website which I then looked up on better-whois.

The power-d.com site appears to be just a "holding" strategy at the
moment, but may turn into more in the future. It is probable that you
bought "products" on another website associated with the same
person(s).

Besides checking the website information, I looked up the corporation
for you. Because the website is registered to a person in South
Carolina, I first checked the Sec'y of State's office there. I found
nothing with repeated searches using variations on the "Power D" name.
Then, because, the area code of the phone number is shown to be
associated with Illinois - http://www.cs.ucsd.edu/users/bsy/area.html
- I checked the Sec'y of State there. Bingo - Power D Productions,
Inc. is registered to JEFFREY M DAVIS 306 W CHURCH ST CHAMPAIGN IL
61820. The entire corporate record is here:
http://www.cyberdriveillinois.com/cgi-bin/business_services/corp.s?ID=61984747&CTYPE=01

I don't know if you'll be able to get your money back - these kinds of
enterprises are not known for aboveboard dealing - but this
information will at least allow you to get in touch with them.

You might also consider consulting your credit card company for
advice. You may be able to refuse payment if you can show that the
transaction was fraudulent.
