I am interested in finding a toy that was sold in stores in the
mid-1960's. It was a full-size, black plastic bazooka, with a red pump
handle on top for pumping in compressed air. When you pulled the
trigger, it shot a blast of compressed air out of the bazooka tube
with a loud bang. I do not remember the name. I would like to know the
name of the manufacturer, the model number or product name, whether an
antique toy dealer somewhere has one for sale and for how much? |

If your toy looked like this, I can tell you what it is, who
manufactured it, and where you can buy a used one:

This toy came in several color combinations; the air-compressing pump
handle on top was red in some of them, silver in others, and white in
others.

If your gun looks like this one, I can tell you the manufacturer and
the name of the toy, but I haven't yet found one for sale:

Some of these '60s toys are highly 'collectible' these days. Baby
Boomer nostalgia, and all that. ;-)

The toy is for a colleague. I will not be able to clarify the question
until tomorrow morning. I suspect it's the larger one, but the
pictures will certainly help. Thanks.

I've tried, and failed, to find a place where this vintage toy can be
bought online.
However, I can give you the exact names of the toy and its
manufacturer, and a link to a page that gives an estimate of the
typical value of this toy as a collectible. Will this be satisfactory
as an answer?
