You can get information from their state alcohol licenses here: http://134.186.136.91/lqs/PM_LQS_QUERY.SSI |

While waiting for clarification, http://www.citysearch.com for San Jose lists 51 bars and/or nightclubs in the downtown San Jose area broken up into the following categories: 21 & Over (6), After Work (3), Beer Garden & Outdoor Bar (1),Biker (1),Billiards Bar (1), Brewpub (1), Dance Club - '80s & New Wave (1), Dance Club - Disco (1), Happy Hour (4), Lounge (1),Neighborhood (6),Outdoor Seating (1),Pub (5), Singles (4),Sports Bar (2),Tavern (2) The name, address, and phone number is shown for each of the listings. The expanded San Jose area lists 195 locations with 8 in South San Jose and 9 in West San Jose. Unfortunately, entering the name or address into the State Alcohol License database searcher did not yield any results. Searching at digital city can expand the list of 51 bars by listing some specialty bars that are not listed at citysearch.com http://www.digitalcity.com/sanjose/bars/ Hope some of this information is useful. |

Re: names of owners is the hard part

It has been relatively easy to find the names and numbers of establishments but I really need to have the names of the owners in order to create a mail list or cold call them them to sell them our consulting services. |

It may be a little labor intensive, but why don't you just call the places anonymously and ask for the name of the owner? The person answering the phone would most likely know and be happier to tell you than take the time to listen to you explain why you want it. Then, call back a few days later and ask for that person. Just a thought...hope it helps. |
