I'm looking for the name of a secretary to the Austrian Legation in Tokyo who appears in a Japanese short story set in 1927. His name, when backtransliterated into German, sounds like 'Tschindar' or 'Tschindal', but I haven't been able to identify any individual so named. According to the story, which is accurate in other details of background historical characters, this gentleman (1) belonged to an old Austrian aristocratic family, and (2) sailed for Europe in 1927. |

I haven't found this information online. You probably could get it from the Austrian Embassy in Japan http://www.austria.or.jp/ Or perhaps inquire with the Austrian Embassy in Washington http://www.austria.org/ (There are phone numbers and email contact forms on the site) |
