In a 1960s storm, the American ship "President Buchanan" sailed out of
Yokohama, against the harbour pilots advice.

I understand that subsequently, because she was carrying passengers
who were injured, as well as losing Jeeps in crates belonging to the
US Army, there was a maritime inquiry. I would be interested in
receiving a copy of this inquiry.

Hello Harry,

I’ve found some information on the ship and also a source for the
report you’re looking for. To make sure I’m on the right track I’d
like to get more information, if possible. What happened to the ship
in the incident you mention? Did it sink? Please add any additional
details you might have so that I can better research your question.
Thanks.

Perhaps another researcher knows of a resource for a
hard copy.
