Greetings qpet-
The number of persons having cosmetic surgery has been increasing
greatly over the last decade, since 1992 when the American Society of
Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) started tracking the surgical procedures that
its approximately 5,000 members perform.

Overall, 5 percent of women and 3 percent of men have had cosmetic
surgery

I could find no exact figures on how many persons have had more than
one cosmetic surgery, nor was the ASPS able to provide that data.
However, we do know that 33 percent (or 2.4 million) cosmetic surgery
patients in 2000 were repeat patients.

7.4 million Americans had cosmetic plastic surgery in 2000, according
to American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery as reported by Fox
News. That translate to roughly 2.6 percent of the total U.S.
population of 280 million.
In the last decade, nearly 10 million American adults have had
cosmetic
surgery, more than 6 percent of the country's total adult population.

You can find a wide array of statistics on cosmetic surgery at the
ASPS website

There is also an interesting article on cosmetic surgery from the
April 2001 issue of Modern Maturity at
