I recently upgraded from Mac OS 9.2 to OSX 10.2 All of my files were
backed up and returned to my hard drive, so why can I not  find my
mail, contacts, or favorites in Entourage and IE 5?

There should be a favorites.html file that contains your IE favorites,
you should be able to just drag and drop this to
~/preferences/Explorer. And that should be all you have to do to get
your favorites back.
