Where can I find an IP database for domains registered in the US? Further, is there any software you are aware of that converts a domain name to an IP address? If so, where can I find it? |

Hi, Both of your questions are answered by the simple program Ping. Using your command line in windows, type the command ping google.com and ping will respond with the name of the server from the DNS lookup. A DNS server is a database that matches up Domain Names and IP addresses. http://www.dns.net/dnsrd/ but you won't have to worry much about that using Ping. You may also be interested in this site. http://www.internettrafficreport.com/namerica.htm Because of security these days, some domains may not respond to a ping. You will however still get the DNS lookup which will show the name or the IP depending on which you used to do the ping command. Thanks, webadept-ga | |

you can also try the nslookup command nslookup google.com ..this will return the IP address of the server on which google is hosted. the nslookup works either way i.e. nslookup 64.58.76.222 will return the domain name registered for this IP(which for above IP is yahoo.) |
