Presumably, several people have written books and recorded a rap
album. But a well-known recent example is Cornel West. Cornel West
has been a bestselling author and is currently a professor at
Princeton University. He has also "performed on and produced a rap
(or 'spoken-word,' as he calls it) compact disc, 'Sketches of My
Culture'".
