Hi Killermunchkin and thanks for the question,
Author, Mickey Spillane pitched Miller Lite beer on TV for 19 years.
'Spillane, 79, has written more than a dozen Hammer novels, although
many are now out of print. He even crossed over into acting to portray
Hammer in The Girl Hunters, a 1963 feature film version of one of his
books. Later, he became a TV commercial pitch man for Miller Lite
Beer, a gig he held for 19 years. His latest literary effort: Black
Alley (Dutton, 1996), his first Hammer book in seven years. '

He said himself "I'm a merchandiser, I'm not just a writer, I stay in
every avenue you can think of. For 19 years I was doing the Miller
Beer ads, in front of the public every day, we made Miller Lite the
second largest selling beer in the world and everybody said 'no one'll
drink that stuff'. We had a group of great sports guys, who were
better known now, from the ads, than they were in the sports world.
Then there's a corporate takeover, and we're not part of their group,
so they discontinue the ads and wheee (makes noise of bomb falling)
sales crash... "
