Hello bluedaisy:

I wasn't able to find any village in Brazil called "Itiam Palista".
However, there is an area just outside of the main part of Sao Paulo
called "Itaim Paulista". A map of Sao Paulo at

http://www.europa-tech.com/gallery/etgip028.htm

shows Itaim Paulista about 1/3 from the top and about 1/4 from the
right.

Is it possible that this is the place you are looking for?

Thanks.

At the world gazeteer site [
http://www.calle.com/world/brazil/index.html ] you can see a listing
of all 46,644 cities and towns in Brazil. There are none named
Palista (or itiam palista) on the list, but there are about a dozen
towns named Paulista. Could one of them be what you're looking for?
Perhaps if you let us know where you found sites (even in Portugese)
that made mention of "palista" it would help.
