I've narrowed my home theater system search down to two similar
models. They are the Onkyo Envision LSV-950 and the Onkyo Envision
LSV-500C. The LSV-500C seems to have a lot more going for it - more
watts per channel, 5 disc DVD changer AND a lower price at
www.shoponkyo.com. My question to any audio experts out there is: am
I missing something? How can the seemingly better model in terms of
features be on sale for less money? If you were making a purchase,
which system would you buy? Also, if you have any comprable Home
Theater systems you can recommend in lieu of these systems, I'd love
to hear about them. Thanks for your help!

I'm pretty sure the LSV-500C comes with speakers - these Home Theater
in a Box systems pretty much all do.

I'm not familiar with the Onkyo range, but it looks like the LSV-950
is supplied with speakers while the LSV-500C isn't. The key phrase in
the LSV-500C blurb is "Add in the HTP-102 speaker package and..."

I usually rely on Cnet.com as a start to review various interesting
home theater systems
