I have been trying to find an online fish retailer/wholesaler/hatchery that will sell and ship 3 or 4 small "albino channel catfish". Everything I have found so far won't ship or requires a min. $100.00 purchase. | |

Hey Scoobyfan, I've found an online fish retailer who meets your requirements. http://www.fish2u.com/fish2u/scavengers-catfish.html They are based near Tampa, so should reduce your shipping costs. They do have a minimum order of $10.00. 3 albino channel cats are priced at $4.88, so you may have to order more than 3, or else make up the $10 with other products, maybe some cool plants? http://www.fish2u.com/fish2u/aquatic-plants.html I wish you luck with your new fish! Araminty-ga Search strategy: I emailed Kevin of Kevin's Game Fish ( http://www.geocities.com/kevinsgamefish/myfishfarm.html?1008678674142 ) who recommended fish2u.com |

Hi scoobyfan, Alot depends on your location, but Blackwater Creek in Florida sounds like a good possibility. They have (had?) 4-7" fingerlings and say this about shipping, "Shipment will be sent to your closest major airport. Freight charges for 1-3 boxes are less than $50.00." http://www.koisale.com/new_page_9.htm email us greatkoi@aol.com Order info form to ask for a quote: http://www.koisale.com/order_info.htm I hope this helps. If you find this information satisfactory, please let me know and I'll post it as an answer. If not, I suggest you let us know where you are located so we can make a more informed search. To avoid duplicating what you have found, it would also be helpful to know which fish farms you have already investigated. I am looking for a few fish to keep in a home aquarium, when they start to outgrow my tanks I will but them outside in a pond. I live in South Florida (Florida Keys) if it helps and would be willing to drive anywhere south of Orlando to pick them up. I looked at http://www.koisale.com/new_page_9.htm and the way they list there prices it looks like they are selling in quantities beginning with 500 which is more than I need. I sent them an email on the off chance they can help. I was hoping that there would be some online fish store or hatchery that would carry and ship them. The only pet store within 50 miles of my house hasn't been able to help. Thanks |

BTW, hurricane Andrew virtually wiped out all the fish hatcheries south of Miami years ago. |
