Good morning, donnajean!

According to a survey done by the Catalyst for Cleveland schools,
Cincinnati City Schools, one of the 7 largest districts in Ohio, had
the following scale for 1999-2000:

$29,229 for a BA and minimal experience
$$57,737 for an MA with several years experience.

Teachers in the Cincinnati City School district averaged $$46,695/year
in 1999-2000.

You can find a list of school districts, including links to district
homepages here:

"Greater Cincinnati School Districts"

Using this list to search the "Vital Statistics" section at the Ohio
Department of Education, I came up with the follwing average teacher
salaries for fiscal year 1997 or 1998 (some only had 1997 as the most
recent):

Norwood City Schools: $41,573 (1997)
Indian Hill Exempted Village Schools: $43,583 (1998)
Madeira Schools: $42,881 (1998)
North College Hill City Schools: $36,894 (1998)
West Clermont School District: $40,569 (1998)

]

More specific scales can be had by contacting the districts directly.

I used the following search keywords: [Cincinnati "teacher salaries"],
["school districts" Cincinnati], and went directly to the ODoE.

Hope this helps! Good luck!

Missy: Thanks for your quick response. What I am looking for are
specific and current salary SCALES (which show pay based on education
and years of experience) for teachers in a variety of school districts
in the greater Cincinnati area, not average teacher salaries in the
districts. None of the schools I have checked post this information
on their websites. Other suggestions?

Hello again!

A call to the Ohio Department of Education (1-(877)-644-6338) revealed
that listings of actual pay scales are not published on the internet -
neither through the ODE, the teachers' unions, nor indiviual district
home pages.

The ODE representative suggested that you either call or write to the
individual districts for the information. A written request will
likely get you more complete data.

Addresses for the individual district offices can be found on their
home pages.
