I am a flute player in search of an effects processor box. I have an
electric barcus-berry pickup (internal). I am looking for something
along the lines of the Korg Pandora PX3 and/or PX4 because of the
following features: 1. Multiplicity of controllable effects (reverb,
delay, chorus, distortion). 2. Portability. 3. Direct output to
headphones (i.e. does not require an amplifier). 4. Works on
batteries as well as AC. BUT I would like something that would be
more oriented to accomodating a flute. The PX's (like many other
effects boxes) are very oriented toward guitar. Also, I would like to
be able to synthesize the sound where I would be able to emulate some
other instruments - namely violin, other woodwinds and percussion. I
would like to spend no more than $400. Can anyone suggest effects
processors that would have the aforementioned qualities?

Generally speaking, you will probably need two separate units—one for
FX and one for synth sounds (although it is possible that a
combination device exists). I will definately look for something for
you when I get the chance, though.
