Hello,

I need answers to the below to assist me in making a career decision.
Generally speaking, I am interested in a career in music, but am
trying to assess my chances, and learn about my competition. The
following questions give an idea of what information I think will help
me in this decision.

How many people try to get jobs each year in music
arranging/composition/production in USA (LA and New York), and Canada
(Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver) compared to the number of positions
filled?

How many people working in these positions have an income above
$40,000 (USD or CAD)?

How many years working in the industry does it take them to achieve an
income of $40,000 (USD or CAD) or more.

What percentage of people in these positions maintain a second job for
additional financial support (whether or not they make $40,000+)?

For established/successful (eg. famous, and/or those who make over
$40,000) music arrangers/composers/producers, what is the percentage
who have established themselves mainly through formal training (eg.
University or technical college degrees), as compared to those who
established themselves mainly through mentorship/experience/DIY?

Thanks for your careful research.
