apartment (only 300 sq ft). As it can not be enlarged I am looking for

Thanks in advance,

Hi moss,

One of the best Oprah shows I ever saw was about this 'oh so common'
problem. If you click and browse around the links on the following
site, you'll find a lot of really good information and tips. If you
feel this answers your question satisfactorily, I'll be glad to post
it as an answer.

moss-ga,

I found a number of great resources for small space living...

Advice from Homestore.com @
http://www.homestore.com/HomeGarden/Decorate/ByRoom/Apt/SmallSpaces.asp

Here's a nice one! http://www.mysmallspace.com It includes all kinds
of info on the 'small space lifestyle', including feng shui for small
spaces.

The online guide to Decorating Small Spaces from the Do it Yourself
Network @ http://www.diynet.com/DIY/episode/0,1007,DID-107,FF.shtml

Better Homes & Garden's Guide to small spaces @
http://www.lhj.com/bhg/category.jhtml?categoryid=/templatedata/bhg/category/data/Decorating_SmallSpaces.xml

Some very elegant pieces of versatile furniture from Julia West
Home... http://www.juliawesthome.com/realsmallspaces.htm
(Also see Harvest House @
http://www.harvesthouse.on.ca/smallspaces.htm)

Also, speaking from experience, Ikea and Pier 1 make furniture
especially for smaller scale living spaces (seats and tables that
double as storage, couches that double as beds, attractive folding
chairs and collapsible tables/desks, etc.) Visit them @ www.ikea.com
and www.pier1.com.

Best of luck!

Ikea have plenty of reasonable cheap ideas for folding-beds, which are
also storage spaces etc. Their latest 2002 catalogue specialises in
such solutions. (www.ikea.com and choose your country. Like
McDonalds', they sell about the same in the whole world. I'd add
something about their similarity to McDonalds in quality and
"one-to-fit-all" attitude, but I'm a nice person and actually own some
Ikea pieces, which are really beautiful).

I would like also to suggest the usage of a lot of lights and mirrors,
since both create the "illusion" of space.
