Question ID: 142274
MTV recently aired a special edition of Cribs featuring the Jackass
guys. At the beginning of the scene where Bam Margera shows off his
Ferrari, the song in question is played. I'd like to know the title
and artist of the song.

About the song itself: As I remember it, it features a kinda syrupy
Moog hook backed by distorted guitars. After a couple bars, the drums
and bass kick in. The arrangement makes it sound like the very
beginning of a song. There are no lyrics, at least for the 10 seconds
or so that are played on the show.

I'd be happy to punch out a quick MIDI if it would help anyone, though
I think the challenge will be figuring out the artist/title, not
figuring out which song I'm referring to.

I have not seen the episode you are referring to, but I am quite
familiar with the style and artists commonly used by the Jackass show,
assuming it was music of their style, I may be able to identify it, do
you have recording, or that MIDI you mentioned?

Regards,
sycophant

Because the show was a Jackass edition of Cribs (as opposed to a Cribs
edition of Jackass), the music used was decidedly more Cribs-style
than Jackass-style. At least, if I remember correctly. At any rate,
I'll start the MIDI this evening and hopefully will have it available
in the next 24 hours. Thanks for your interest.

Could it possibly be "Walking with Thee" by Clinic? Your description
sounds right and at the time the music video was getting some airplay
on MTV.

You can listen to a clip of it at:

Although the clip isnt the beginning of the song, I'm sure you'll be
able to tell yes or no right away.

Hope this helps!
