Hello, As you know, I have a background in internal medicine. I am looking for physician-specific opportunities to work at home via the internet. I have looked options in the following question: https://answers.google.com/answers/main?cmd=threadview&id=114989 None of the sites in that answer have given me the opportunity I'm looking for (most of them were not hiring or were not established enough). I have also looked at several advice sites (i.e. keen.com, yahoo.advice.com) - none are established enough to be worth my while. Examples of what I'm looking for include medical information research, physician consulting, or editing medical information. There are some requirements that I definitely need: 1) the job does not have to require a physician, although it is preferred 2) the job must be health-care related 3) the job can be performed via the internet Thanks for your work, Kevin, M.D. |

Hello Kevin M.D.! As a freelance writer and researcher, I wonder if you have thought about the possibilities of medical writing from home. There seem to be many opportunities for specialized knowledge such as yours, from everything to writing e-books, to articles for journals, consumer magazines, and web sites. If you would like me to post some job opportunities and other freelancing info as a formal answer, please let me know. Thanks, and good luck in your online endeavors! (I've been working online for years, so I have a rather large bank of sites where I look for work, and contribute.) nvwriter-ga |

Hello nvwriter, Thanks for commenting. Writing is an avenue that I am considering. Would you be so kind as to offer one example of the writing opportunity you mentioned. The question will remain open to other Researchers, but I'll investigate your lead and if it is feasible I'll ask you to post your remaining research as a formal answer. Thanks, Kevin, M.D. |

Kevin, here is a job board just for medical writing, with quite a few jobs listed. http://www.writerswrite.com/cgi-bin/mwlistjobs.pl I also subscribe to several newsletters, (free and paid), etc. that list writing opportunities, and how to get your business off the ground. I also wrote articles for an online site on freelancing, etc., which I can point you to. Hope this helps! nvwriter-ga |

Hello nvwriter, Thanks for the site recommendation - there are some truly interesting opportunities. Unfortunately, most of the listings require a full-time commitment which I cannot do currently. I'm looking for something more part-time, weekend/night hours as I still have my full time job during the day. Thanks for the suggestion. Kevin, M.D. |

Kevin, that was just an example, to show there are many jobs out there. To be a successful freelancer, you have to promote yourself constantly, and look for opportunities everywhere, so those "full-time" jobs might also have part-time potential if you had article ideas you could pitch to them. nvwriter-ga |
